In Massachusetts licensed "Hazardous Waste Site Cleanup Professionals" (aka LSPs) provide Opinions on the adequacy of all response actions conducted under a hazardous waste program that was revised in 1993 and a number of subsequent dates. The state program provides for the assessment and cleanup of sites contaminated by oil or hazardous materials. This program was initiated as the revised Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP). The MCP requires that licensed LSPs provide Opinions on the adequacy of all response actions conducted under the new program. We provide LSP services and welcome inquiries. If you are interested in LSP services for your site, please contact us. The MCP requires that responsible parties, potentially responsible parties and other persons engage or employ the services of one or more LSPs as necessary to meet the requirements of the regulations. LSPs, in turn, are required to render Opinions in accordance with the applicable regulations. For more information about the role of LSPs in waste site cleanup programs under the MCP, please check the following hyperlinks:
Whether LSPs can or can't solve the "field measurement dilemma" is explored on our "Dilemma Page".
